Trump and sycophants are relentless in their destruction of our American democracy. Today, in the beginning of 2006, it is the choice of language that destroys our American Democracy, word by word, concept by concept, stone by stone and pillar by pillar. Case in point.

Trump appointee, Pam Bondi, U.S. Attorney General, shows off her lack of understanding of the American legal system, using the most inflammatory language she could muster, to degrade the American system of Justice. To wit, as they say in the legal business, Bondi is quoted in the Sunday Detroit Free Press of 1/4/2026 saying that Venezuela’s Maduro “will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts.” (Trump: U.S. To Run Venezuela). For those who have never studied the philosophy of the American legal system, that might sound like strength and command of the situation. But, be assured, it is not !!!

The judicial system of our American democracy does not deal in emotions like “wrath” (definition “extreme anger”) nor in “emotions” like vengeance, nor in paybacks, nor in getting even. Wrath and vengeance are attributed to the Old Testament God who had “smoten” down many of his children back in the day, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay saith the Lord.” (Romans 12:19). But…

• Wrath and self-righteousness are the emotions of those who participated (or stood by approvingly) in the lynching of God’s Black children.
• Wrath is for self-righteous vigilantes and mobs who bust people out of jail cells and Hang ‘em High in “extrajudicial” fashion.
• Wrath is for those who blow up boats of in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Venezuela without due process of law.
• Wrath is playing Judge, Jury and Executioner, without interdicting, intercepting, searching for drugs, questioning, arresting, charging or putting on trial.

American Justice is not an emotion, not Trial by Battle, not Trial by Ordeal (Dunking tanks), not a “show” trial in Russia, Iran or Afghanistan with mere accusation followed by the “inevitable” guilty verdict.

American Justice is a “detached,” unemotional “process” of a determination of guilt (or not) under the presumption of innocence, under the process of fact finding known as “Due Process of Law.” A process where voice is given to both the witnesses for the State and the Defendant, with cross-examination accorded to insure the truth (as far as humanly possible) is found and where exaggerations are reduced to their proper proportion and where Jurors in an American democracy are instructed by the judge that they dare NOT decide the case based on bias, anger, sympathy or any other emotion.

Yet Trump’s Attorney General, Pam Bondi, specifically chooses words that make sure the readers of the Detroit Free Press jump on the emotional bandwagon while deciding the fate of the accused. In the meantime, our American Democracy and time-honored, legal system stand by and watch as the philosophical underpinnings of democracy are torn asunder… word by word, concept by concept, stone by stone and pillar by pillar.

If it’s “wrath” you’re looking for Pam, why don’t you at least wait until sentencing (if Maduro gets convicted) ??? If it’s self-righteousness you’re looking for Pam, why do you choose to be complicit with the Devils against Democracy ??? Or, maybe, what you really want, Pam (as you ride the fickle wave of the political moment), is to “strut and fret your hour upon the stage” while shouting out your ambitious, political tale that is “full of sound and fury, but signifying nothing.” After which, all fades to black, and “you are heard no more” on the stage (Shakespeare’s Macbeth).

But, the good news ??? By the time you are heard no more… you will have earned your posthumous place of honor on the world stage with the Demagogues of Wrath, Donald “Pinocchio” Trump, Pete “Blow ‘em High” Hegseth, Bibby “Reduce ‘em to Ashes” Netanyahu and the Pied Piper of Eternal Suffering, that illustrious Soul of World Empathy, Vladimir Putin. And, so goes America under Donald Trump.
