“SEE THROUGH”
TRANSPARENCY

Jordan, you say your New York acting Coach, John, is “mad” at you… regarding one of my books he lent you and you returned to him. No worries… unless John needs another copy of one of my books which I would be more than happy to send him free of charge. Your call.

Some years back, I stopped worrying too much about trying to “interpret” the temperament of a diverse humanity… why they do what they do or why they feel what they feel. But, if they want to let me know why… of course, I will listen.

What I really feel comfortable with in any and all relationships ??? Mutual transparency !!! Me being the real me and everyone else being the real them… “fully transparent” versions of who we all are. But caveat, the process of discovering who we really are and then letting the world see that person… takes awhile (both to figure out and then to courageously project on the screen of life). But, if we figure out who we really are (and consistently show that very same person to the world), nobody has to do much interpretation… as we are fully “transparent.” So, when anyone “reacts” to who we are (in a good or bad way), we, at least, can take comfort in knowing their reaction is to the real us.

They can like us or not. That’s their choice, and It really matters not what their choice is… so long as they like or dislike us based on who we really are. This is exactly what I see of you in your clip… Movie Critic (Take 1).

I am not indifferent. I just want all the others to see who I really am and then accept me or reject me based on that transparent truth (who I really am). If they like, enjoy and respect me, great. If they don’t, no worries… for (as my Irish Mother once told me) I am not everybody’s cup of tea.

And regardless, if they like or dislike me, my feelings toward them will be positive IF … IF I see worth in them. Contrary wise, Donald Trump (the opposite of me) likes only those who flatter him (so long as they never stop telling him how great he is). I see no worth in that… “Oh, please tell me again how great I am.”

John, since you are an Actor by trade, I am left to wonder whether actors (in general) have a more difficult struggle in finding out who they really are… because, well because, actors play so many, different parts, so many different roles ??? I once read that the great actor, Peter Sellers, had a constant, psychological battle just trying to figure out who the real Peter Sellers was/is. I do not have that problem. I know who I am… a man of many emotions as I live out life and project out to the world my 15 minutes of fame (Andy Warhol) … fretting, strutting and even singing on the stage of life (William Shakespeare).

My reality !!! I am exactly who I “created” myself to be. I am the screenwriter and director of my life, a life that is projected out and onto the screen of life… in all of the many performances life has demanded of me. But, all my performances must be limited by life’s reality that any and all roles I play-out… must (as my Mother, Father, Nuns and Priests taught me) never be an attempt to deceive anyone. And, that philosophy (as you can guess) limited me from trying to deceive Judge or Jury over a 43-year career… facing piles of trials with both rage and smiles.

How freeing. No ??? But, I better stay away from the Shrinks. Most would not accept the “simplicities” of “integrity” and “accountability” I had to adapt to and then project along the way. I am still doing so… a lifetime effort. But I suspect… the Psychologists and Psychiatrists would have a field day with me (and my beloved, hard-nosed family of anti-establishment resisters).

Best to you Jordan. I am one of your fans.
