As Pope Leo XIV says about President Trump and his cast of Supporting Oligarchs, “Idolatry of self, Idolatry of Wealth.” As Fighter Pilot, Astronaut and Arizona Senator, Mark Kelly, says about President Trump, “He should stick to what he knows best— ballrooms, bankruptcy and bullshit.” As I say about President Bone Spurs and his Supporting Cast of Crony Capitalists… they have mastered the corruption game of getting rich(er) by “Who knows Who,” Pay to Play and Insider Trading, day to day.

America’s Integrity Collapse.

I ran into two right-wing, Michigan Republican Judges at my Jesuit Law school on Tuesday night (7/21/2026). I “politely” confronted one of them, a Michigan, Supreme Justice… telling him, “I see you dissented” on the majority decision that set aside a conviction where the cops “tricked” the Defendant into not having an attorney present during interrogation (even though he was asking for an attorney). The Justice’s immediate (practiced) response ??? “It was good police work.” I then asked him, if Corporate America “tricked” us out of our money, would you call that, “Good Capitalism.” No answer, but any answer from him, probably, would have been “who cares” (given that Michigan’s, Engler-appointed, Republican Judges decimated the Michigan Consumer Protection Act… some time back).

The other Judge, a Retired Court of Appeals Judge (and a “professional” Catholic if there ever was one), just shook his head at my professed ignorance. Then both of the Jesuit-educated, right wing Judges launched into another, a recent case and both started laughing and scoffing at a Michigan Supreme Court, female justice who wrote a dissent saying that Chimpanzees should have legal rights. I asked the obvious, “Who created Chimpanzees” ??? Receiving a dumbfounded look, I suggested, “Didn’t God create Chimpanzees” ??? No answer. So I walked away saying to myself, “Such is the ’transactional’ mindset of the America we now live in.” See “Transactional” Pinocchios and Humpty Dumptys

Ironic, no ??? Two, Jesuit-educated Judges standing in the Courtyard of their own Jesuit Law School and showing the world that their Jesuit education was wasted on them. I am a back-row Catholic (at best) but a “struggling follower” of the Man in Sandals who walked from Nazareth to Jerusalem preaching the Good News of “empowering” with Love, Forgiveness, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion… exemplars of the New Testament’s, Golden Rule of “Doing unto others as you would have they do unto you.”

America’s Financial Collapse

Bases upon the priorities of “timing,” I say America will be “bankrupted” by the King of Debt Trump before we Americans run out of Democracy. The biggest and most immediate threat to America’s existence ??? Financial Bankruptcy that will destroy America before Democracy is killed off. Our “King of Debt” President knows how to play that game (six of his businesses bankrupted). And as our President is wont to say… Who cares, I’ll be dead by then.

Bottom Line

Thanks to a lack of (Greatest Generation) “Integrity,” America is careening toward both Moral and Financial Bankruptcy.
