Trump revered for his “Warrior Mentality” by the Evangelical Christians ???
So says American Christians Face a Choice, The Atlantic

Make no mistake about it. The “Born Again,” Evangelical, Christian-Nationalists movement is a movement of “indoctrination” from childhood through adulthood, an indoctrination that says to each new generation of Evangelical children… accept the “preconceived” notions and “unprovable” beliefs of the “finite” minded Evangelical Elders (who claim to read the “infinite” mind of God. See Reading God’s Mind – A Letter to the Galatians… ) or each new generation will be condemned to the fires of Hell for an eternity. Whoa !!! Sounds more like child abuse via “indoctrination” than teaching their Children that… “God is Love” so follow the Golden Rule of “doing unto others.

“The present problem on America’s 250th Birthday ??? Each and every, new Evangelical generations,’ rigid acceptance of what their Elders teach them has generated a “pass it on,” indoctrinated “belief” system that sets up each new generation to get hoodwinked and highjacked by the likes of Donald Trump’s, brand of “political” indoctrination, i.e. the 2020 election was stolen (all despite losing every lawsuit, every recount, every audit and despite Michigan’s Republican party finding no fraud that cost Pinocchio Trump the election in Michigan. Like many (not all) of you, I grew up with a strong, loyal and loving Father and a strong, disciplinarian, Irish Mother. Unlike many of you, I also grew up with a Warrior, half Brother, Marty Lahti, who fought enough cops to be sent to the “joint” where he then fought Alvin “Blue” Lewis for the Heavyweight Championship of Jackson Prison. After a couple short stints, Marty got out of the joint (for good) and became a Bouncer Extraordinaire… who (at age 43) finish 5th in the very, first Tough Man Contest held in the Michigan Silverdome in September 1979 (amongst … almost a hundred, other, Tough Guy entrants). The man my Brother fought for the Championship of the “Joint” (aka Jackson Prison), Alvin “Blue” Lewis, got out, turned pro and fought Muhammed Ali in Croake Park in Ireland on 7/11, 1972 for the Heavyweight Championship of the world… a slugfest that went 11 rounds before Ali vanquished Blue. My Father, Mother and Brother Marty were pretty tough, fearless characters… impervious to discomfort, pain and fear… but all filled with love of humanity, especially its underdogs living on the margins. They all had that, true Warrior Mentality reflected in the Irish sayin, “I will fight to the death for me right to be peaceful.” But the difference between them and Trump ??? These “beautiful,” strong-willed relatives of mine lived their lives as Warriors for Justice, Warriors for Right vs Wrong (inspiring me to go to Law School to fight in the Courtroom Arena of Justice… for Justice for All, especially the poor, the downtrodden and the masses of the voiceless who struggle to be heard, seen and survive) . My family didn’t just pretend they were Warriors like Commander Bone Spurs did to avoid Vietnam and as he continues to do today when he sells “wolf tickets” threatening to annihilate Iran, threatening “to bomb them in the head,” threatening to shoot lawful protesters in the legs, threatening to invade Greenland, Canada and Cuba., blah, blah, blah.

And Jesus the chosen leader of the Born Again, Christian-Nationalist Evangelicals (without any army to back him up) was (by all accounts) very, very “occasionally” strong in his “tough” love. Example, throwing the money changers out of the Temple because he saw the entire Temple/High Priests system as unnecessarily burdensome to the poor who were asked to pony up money they didn’t have for the sacrifices of animals they didn’t need (all for the enrichment of the wealthy High Priests). “Despite the command to love one another, don’t we retain the right (and even the duty) to challenge the deficiencies of the hard-wired (non-teammate, rifle-toting Libertarians and judgmental Evangelicals and right wing Catholics) we see all about us ??? Or, are my questions just showing my failure to comprehend the message of love, and my refusal to check my “get it on” ego ??? Are there valid and acceptable exceptions to the Command… love another ???

“Is there an exception to the Command to Love one another for purpose of self-defense or defense of others ??? e.g. World War II, the Ukraine, or knocking some, hard-ass, “threatening” recalcitrant off his feet in the hardscrabble streets of life, or knocking my adversaries off their game in the (not so gentlemanly) confines of Courtrooms… where confrontation, cross examination and words are weapons to ferret out the real truth from bogus claims of truth ??? Indeed, shouldn’t the search for “truth” trump “Do unto others” ??? Shouldn’t the Love of Truth trump the Love of my Courtroom adversary ??? And, what of Capitalism, which (despite its 20th Century reforms) is still based on the concept of Laissez-Faire competition… not loving your competitors, not doing unto them, but rather bankrupting them and taking their customers from them ??? Oh my, the subtle nuances of Loving One Another.” (Love One Another).

Evangelicals for Trump. ??? An assault on the Message of Jesus and the Golden Rule and a farcical farce if there ever was one. And, as a voice of one, I’ll take the Basilians or the Jesuits (everyday, all day) over the ever “mercurial” Right Wing Catholic convert, V.P. … J.D. Vance (despise Trump, now love Trump, criticize “childless cat ladies,” now praise ‘em, right to life, now blow up the boats off Venezuela as Judge, Jury and executioner, etc)… repeat, V.P. J. D. can take whatever brand of Catholicism he wants at the moment, but I’ll pass on his ambitious self as he auditions as the next “Trump in waiting.”
