Resist Trump’s Invite To The Next Civil War
Trump continues to belligerently insist that the Ukraine was responsible for hacking into the DNC emails and meddling in America’s last Presidential election (2016), not Russia… despite the unassailable findings to the contrary. See (1) American Intelligence findings, (2) the Muller Report and (3) the “bipartisan” Senate report released two months ago in October 2019.
Trump (our self-proclaimed “stable genius” of a President) continues to deny the findings of all of these reports from various branches of government, including the Republican controlled “bipartisan” Senate report that clearly and convincingly lays the meddling in America’s 2016 elections on Russia. Trump’s continual denials, and his attempt to give Russia cover by laying the meddling (in America’s 2016 elections) on the Ukraine, look foolish and uninformed.
Republican Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr, had this to say about the “bipartisan” Senate report… “Russia is waging an information warfare campaign against the U.S. that didn’t start and didn’t end with the 2016 election,” and “Their [Russia’s] goal is broader: to sow societal discord and erode public confidence in the machinery of government” (such as the Press, the Media, Military, Pentagon, Intelligence Community, Speaker of the House, FBI, CIA, the Courts, Government scientists, various Prosecutor’s offices, etc.). As a human rights defender, I certainly believe in checking the power of the institutions and “machinery of government. I have spent a career as a Trial Lawyer trying to do just that… but to “sow the seeds of discord” and obliterate my fellow American’s overall trust in America’s governmental Institutions, and disrupt the “checks and balances” of power, and hand over unfettered and unanswerable control to any President or would be King… “No way.” As Patrick Henry said, “Give me Liberty or give me death.”
And, what better ally could Russia have in obtaining their goal (“sow societal discord and erode public confidence in the machinery of government”) than Donald Trump ??? Answer… None. In essence, Trump is Russia’s best agent, best asset, best spokesperson… acting in concert with Russia in “sowing societal discord” and “eroding public confidence in the machinery of government”… all the while giving Russia and his buddy Putin cover and deniability by deflecting the heat from Russia, onto the Ukraine. When Trump isn’t holding a news conference with Putin, and telling the world that he believes Putin (when Putin denies meddling in our elections), he was on the telephone in August of 2019 with the President of the Ukraine asking the Ukraine to launch an investigation to prove that the Ukraine did the meddling in our elections, not Russia. As I say, what better “asset” could Russia have than our own American President, Donald Trump ???
Think of the significance of that. While our foreign, arch enemy abroad (Russia) is trying to bring America down from within by “sowing the seeds of discord” among Americans, and by reducing trust in our governmental institutions (the “machinery of government”… as Republican Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr calls it)… our own President, Donald Trump, is working hand in glove with Russia to help Russia accomplish that very goal and destroy America from within. You want proof ??? Just read Trump’s daily tweets or listen to Trump’s campaign rallies. And, if Russia and Trump succeed, what then ??? What then is that Trump is right where he wants to be… not answerable to the “checks and balances” of the (“not to be trusted”) other branches of government. What more must my fellow Americans see before they rip up their membership card in the “Make America Great Again” fan club ???
And, the more American understands the Russia/Trump strategy, the better America will be able to resist that strategy. I refuse to buy into the Trump/Russian invitation to “sow discord” and dismiss my fellow Americans as Trump pawns. Instead, I will now tell my fellow American Trump supporters… “We both love America, so let’s talk about what America needs, and not accept the Trump/Russian invitation to come to blows and destroy America from within.”
Understanding what’s going on with Trump and his allay, Putin, has allowed me to turn my anger away from the Trump supporters… who buy into Trump’s Pinocchio Populism. I’ll be damned if I will play into Trump’s hands or into Russia’s hands and attack my fellow Americans and weaken America from within.
